Settle in Estonia Adaptation Programme

Settle in Estonia is a free, state- and EU-funded programme that helps newcomers adapt through adaptation and language courses (A1–B1), offered online and in-person, to build confidence, independence, and integration into Estonian society.

Womens Support and Self Esteem Groups

The Power to Change model, adapted by Menedék for migrant women, offers support groups for girls and women to address violence, build self-esteem, and share knowledge. Alongside language classes and leisure activities like yoga and trips, the program creates safe spaces for women to connect, share experiences, and strengthen cross-cultural community ties.

Moving Forward: Comprehensive Career Support for Ukrainian Children

In Žilina, the People in Peril center supports Ukrainian children with tutoring, career counseling, and parental engagement to ease transition into Slovak schools. The program fosters trust through volunteer-led sessions, promotes emotional wellbeing, and helps families navigate the education system—resulting in successful school enrollments and a replicable integration model.

Integration Program for Employers

Since the war in Ukraine, People in Peril has partnered with Tesco Stores to run an integration program supporting Ukrainian refugees in employment. The program provides counseling, recruitment and onboarding assistance, and ongoing support across Slovakia, offering full-time, part-time, training, and internship opportunities.

A Thousand Needles for Dignity

Each year, the Sopeña Center marks International Women’s Day with activities promoting gender equality and social justice. This year, inspired by the textile artivism movement, students created fabric postcards with messages of dignity and equality, displayed throughout the center to foster reflection, inclusion, and community spirit.

Activities for Detained Migrants

Since 2023, GPB has organized monthly recreational activities in Latvia’s two migrant detention centers, offering sports, games, and creative workshops to support migrants’ wellbeing, foster early integration, and build positive relations with authorities.

Poetic Video Creation: The Observed Word

Poets and artists Lilián Pallares and Charles Olsen run creative workshops where communities write and film collective video-poems, fostering trust, self-expression, and connection. Their projects with diverse groups—from children to the elderly—use poetry and technology as tools for transformation, sharing, and emotional growth, with works presented at international festivals.

Inclusive Camino de Santiago - An accessible journey for all

This project promotes accessibility on the Camino de Santiago by enabling young people with disabilities to participate through digital tools, professional training, inclusive activities, and a documentary. It strengthens European cooperation, builds capacity in accessibility, and raises awareness while bridging education, youth work, and disability care.

Racism Free Classrooms: Pedagogy for Social Justice

This practice trains educators to build anti-racist classrooms by addressing privilege, bias, and structural racism, while providing tools like inclusive communication, curriculum review, and strategies for belonging to foster just and inclusive education.

Livingroom & Mentor Family Program

Olohuone/Livingroom in Finland supports young adults (18–25) who arrived as unaccompanied minor asylum seekers by offering a safe space for homework help, socializing, and guidance. Since 2021, it has reached over 500 youth, helping them stay in school, find jobs, build networks, and gain independence.
